Project 2.1: Object Analysis

From the experiment, I found that it will be a LEAK when the distance between an adjustable cap (where the water come out) and upper body of the spray is too far.

So, I decided to focus about those LEAK for the next project.



Project 2.2: Object's Container

First design,

is based on the idea of the watering spray itself, by having 2 parts of containers which is linked by a tube. The first container (, the small box under the cap,) acts like a leak receiver, while the bigger one is the real container that contains leaked water.

 Second design,

is concerned more about if the leak can be "productive." From the previous experiment that I sprayed a pink liquid on papers, it was like I was the one who produced artworks. It leaded the idea of using leak to paint some picture -- in this case I managed to paint a "heart," but it did not really work.

From the idea above, I planned to use resin as a material by making a plasticine prototype, then make a plaster mold, and finally cast resin from it.

Working with molding and resin caused a lot of problems than I thought. So after I discovered the method to bend acrylic without darken it from Pik, I suddenly threw the resin away XD

Third and final design,

is to go back to the first aim of making the container that "contain the leak of the container that contain..." by removing all the tubes that make it looks systematic. In order to produce painting for leak, I came up with the idea that it should be more interesting if we do not know what picture will look like (, in the same way as heart to dog's foot print.) By designing the 3 containers to be able to adjust or move horizontally, the painted result will not be the same in each time.

At first, I started with paper to find the final container's shape and size,

Project 2.3: Object's Scenerio

Plant Nursery

As the fact that "Rain is a leak from the sky," and my container's objective is to collect those leaks then produce something from them, so I started thinking about trees and plants nursery's greenhouse.

The plant nursery's greatest feature is the butterfly roof which help collecting rain water and let it leaks (accidentally) at the middle of the building.

 The leaked water from the roof will shower the uppest floor which is placed a lot of small plants (, for the reason of strongest sunlight and smallest drop of water,) then the water will run off in every directions. Some of it will water climbing trees on each sides of the 1st floor and 2nd floor. The remain will run again by the slope of 2nd floor to collect the bigger amount of water, and finally falls to the ground floor.
