i rotated the image of the branches vertically and it seems better and easier to look at its structure.
here a new drawing. the front view shows the tree columns and if you look at the plan at the same time, the plan shows the position of those trees from the top view.
the section on the right shows the tree columns as well, about how it bends. but the left one is blocked by the stair case.
lastly, look at the drawing with the arrow and look very carefully at the tiny section on top as well. the balconies are extended as you see. from those seats, nothing will block people when they look down. and what they can see is the people who enter and exit the pier's gate.
and if you think of how it's arranged, i actually plan that the shadow on the floor with 3 balconies will lay over the balconies underneath. if you remember where the sun is.
...i didn't jump into this design right away, i have tried and sketched other ways of placing stairs and columns. but this is what i can think the best and maybe the best i can think.
just to let you know how my design is. if everything is okay, comment and assure me with confirmation. so, i can start to finish up the minimum requirements and begin my model. However, when i'm cutting the model, maybe i may have the idea on how to improve it even better..
hmmm actually this image of a tree is even better than the one i had in mind (a tree-like structure, too hierarchical)
ReplyDeleteuse this for your inspiration then - but think of it structurally, with your intuition
in the end the restaurants could be like tree-huts!...
It has improved indeed. I like the way it is long and fine.
ReplyDeleteBut I do not understand why you keep te four columns as rectangles corners.
All columns should be tree-like. Do not worry it also stands even I it is not exactly at the corner!
The best to realize this is to do study models.
Indeed a final model to represent a design is not do interesting.
Instead do study models to try different tree structures.
ohw.. thank you.
ReplyDeleteaj. nilay mentioned about having thick stems on the ground floor as they have to support more weight and it gets smaller or more and more fine as it goes higher. but i sketched it out and i found it looks too heavy. So, fine branches with slight curve and bends give the feeling more on lightness, flexibility and feel more relax.
and the reason the columns in the corners are straight because i feel that the rails and middle columns are already in tree-form, if the corners columns are in tree-form, i scared it will look too mess and unsteady. instead, this way, i find it slightly more contemporary but not too old.
anyway ya right, let's try differently! thank you. see you tomorrow ! :D
